Admission Possible Makes Dreams Come True for High School Students

For the past decade, the local organization Admission Possible has helped low-income high school students achieve their goal of attending college. The nonprofit helps students with ACT test preparation, financial aid and college admissions consulting, as well as guidance in the transition to college. Watch the video from KARE11.

Admission Possible’s mission attracted current Admission Posisble AmeriCorps member Liz Abbas, an organizational communication major from Bethel University. “A friend of mine actually went through Admission Possible, and I saw how much it had changed her life,” Abbas said. “It seemed like an incredible way to develop my career while making an impact.” Read the full story in the Asian American Press and Asian Pages.

The ninth annual Mentoring Month came to a close last week across the nation, but the spirit of the month will carry on all year at the 19 Twin Cities-area high schools in which Admission Possible AmeriCorps coaches are serving as mentors to students with dreams of going to college. Nonprofit for low-income students to expand

A St. Paul nonprofit that helps low-income students get into college has announced plans to expand to as many as 10 cities in the next five years. Admission Possible, which now operates in the Twin Cities and in Milwaukee, approved the expansion last month.
