Admission Possible has earned many awards, recognition and support from organizations and community leaders. 

 

President Obama - White House Office of Social Innovation and Civic Participation

President Barack Obama praised the work of Admission Possible at a White House event June 30, 2009, highlighting innovative programs making a difference in communities across the country.  

 

President Obama singled out Admission Possible at the event, saying, “We’ve got Jim McCorkell here from Admission Possible, a group that helps promising young people from low-income families attend college.  Ninety-nine percent of the Admission Possible class of 2008 got into college – 99 percent.  The vast majority of students stay in college and earn their degrees.  Admission Possible operates in just two states now, so imagine if it were ten or 20 or 50.” Read a full transcript or watch a video of the President's remarks.

 

National College Access Network - College Access Organization Award of Excellence

Admission Possible is proud to receive the 2009 College Access Organization Award of Excellence. The award recognizes the work of a college access program to fulfill NCAN's mission to improve access to and success in postsecondary education for first-generation, underrepresented and low-income students.

 

National Association for College Admissions Counseling - Human Relations Award

Admission Possible received the 2009 Human Relations award at the 65th annual NACAC conference in Baltimore, Md. This award, established in 1984, honors persons or organizations that have been instrumental in making postsecondary education opportunities available to historically underrepresented students. College Board - CollegeKeys Compact Innovation Award

The 2010 winners of this annual award, in its first year, have initiated innovative, effective best practices that help low-income students get ready, get in and get through college. Midwestern Regional Forum recipients of the 2010 CollegeKeys Compact Innovation Awards are Admission Possible, Stark Education Partnership in Ohio, and the University of Cincinnati. Ashoka Fellow

Admission Possible's CEO, Jim McCorkell, was inducted as an Ashoka Fellow on November 14, 2006 in Mountain View, California.  Ashoka is the global association of the world’s leading social entrepreneurs—men and women with system changing solutions for the world’s most urgent social problems. Minnesota Council of Nonprofits Innovation Award

In November of 2005 Admission Possible received the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits Innovation Award.  Admission Possible was recognized for applying recent college graduates, specifically AmeriCorps members, to the issue of college access; and for fostering a value of community service in its students.  Watch a video of the award.

Deubener Award

Admission Possible was the recipient of the St. Paul Area Chamber of Commerce 2008 Deubener Award.  Admission Possible was the nonprofit recipient of the award and was recognized for its growth, excellence, risk, diversity and innovation.
